Volunteers
Volunteers are the most important resource the Agape Center has. We depend on the generosity of volunteers to fulfill our mission of sharing our love and resources with those in need. Our volunteers come from all walks of life: retirees, students, families, teachers, local area farmers, and community leaders.
Volunteer opportunities include
To protect both our volunteers and clients, Agape volunteers are required to participate in a Protecting God’s Children’s workshop sponsored by the Archdiocese of Detroit. Additional requirements include a background check and Civil Rights Training. Our volunteers maintain high regard for client confidentiality. Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Volunteer opportunities include
- Pick up food at the Macomb Food Bank
- Sort and distribute food in our pantry
- Provide clerical support
- Interview clients
- Holiday projects
